Does anyone know of a good lumber yard near Edison, NJ? I live in an apartment, so I need to buy finished lumber. Thanks in advance.

Morning Sully,
You might try U. S. Mahogany Corp. http://WWW.USMAHOGANY.Com
They are in Aberdeen, which is pretty close I think. I 'm in No. Jersey, takes me a little over an hour, so I guess all things being relative, it is in your backyard. They are nice people to deal with , have your lists ready.

sully, try groff and groff lumber. great place in PA and they will ship it to you.( tell them exactly what you want and how you want it and they will follow your instructions. The phone is 800-342-0001. ask for sharon.
good luck, Lou
HI Where about in PA is this Groff & Groff lumber . I live outside of Phila. PA
Thanks Rick
Rick, Quarryville PA (Scottland RD)
About an hour and ten minutes outside Philadelphia. They have good stuff and do not mind you picking thru as long as you keep the pile neat and tidy when you're done. A tip: The Young kid there likes chewing tabacco, bring him a pouch and he wont charge you for any surfacing. I like it there becouse you aren't bothered by anyone when selecting your wood and you can take as long as you wan't. Tip2: Dont eat the hot dogs next door!!! (crapped for three days)
I'll have to give them a call and take a ride up there, I have plenty of time. Thanks I'll have to find a Wawa for a hot dog. Thanks Rick
Try Monteath in Sayreville. They are easier to deal with than US Mahogany (and closer to you). If you need common domestic woods, see if there is a Jaeger hardware near you that stocks hardwoods. Jager and Monteath both have S4S selections of cherry, poplar and other common woods. Monteath is also the place to go for moldings.
Since you're in Jersey, please check out http://www.cjwa.org - the Central Jersey Woodworkers Association. New members are always welcome.
I have cut appox. 150 pcs of Walnut and Cherry slabs mostly 8/4 x 14" up to 24 "inches wide by 6 to 12 long .I live right out side of phila. and compared to groffs lumber prices you would see a 50% or better on what i have on hand. John [email protected] Also 4/4 -12/4 etc. 610 909 2021
