My apologies if this question has been asked before but I was unable to find the answer.
I’m looking for a “reasonably” priced source for rough sawn hardwoods within 25 miles of Stamford, CT. I know there is Rings End in Darien but they can be pricy.
Thanks!

Here's one I used for years both for hobby and for manufacture. They primarily sell to the trade but will sell to individuals for cash. Will generally let you go through their stacks but be sure to re-stack before leaving. They only have top-notch stock and are therefore expensive.

If you want to head north a little to Bethyl, Kellogg Hardwoods has a great selection.

They are only open weedays but it is worth a trip to look through what they have on hand - both for a particular species and their end lot stuff.
I used Kellogg's Hardwood as well. You need to know precisely what you want when you go there. The keep there wood stacked in pallets. A guy pulls out the right pallets with a fork lift and helps you pull out what you want. If you'd rather browse on your own. Take a Saturday morning trip up to Conways in Gaylordsville. They're open until noon I think. You can pull the pile apart if you want. You just have to restack it in an orderly and stable way. Conways does surface some of their wood (S2S), but 4/4 is at least 7/8 thick after they surface it. I was told that most of their customers like to be able to see the grain easily. Both have reasonable prices.
All,
Thanks for the replies. This is exactly what I needed. I'll check these out.
