I am looking at buying an additional bandsaw for my shop. I want a saw that will cut contours well and accurately. I work with various thicknesses of wood up to 2 inch thickness so some power is needed. I have never seen the Harvey Bandsaw on display at supply stores and would like some more information about this particular bandsaw.

I have the Harvey C14 bandsaw and find it more than adequate for my hobby needs, although I haven't used it a great deal: 3hp is more than sufficient for the 3/4"stock I've been cutting. It rips well and cuts nice circles. I'm still resawing on an older 5hp Delta. The C14 table is a bit small, but serviceable. I'm not a fan of the high/low fence because it has to be realigned to the blade when switched- unless I'm doing it wrong. The tilting table has a piston assist and stout enough trunnions. Blade change outs are easy enough and perhaps my favorite feature is the blade guide system. I believe the literature says it will take a 1" blade, but 3/4" barely (or perfectly with no wasted space) is my limit. No problem for me.
It was a giant leap of faith to purchase the saw sight unseen, but I'm very happy and their customer service is fantastic. If you miss one of their frequent sales, call them and ask for best price. In my area Woodcraft has the largest selection of bandsaws on display so I spent time looking at their inventory comparing it as best I could to online reviews of the Harvey. Facebook has a Harvey Woodworking group (public I think). A lot of contributors and useful information there. Good luck and enjoy.
