Having trouble making scroll saw cut
My goal is to cut 3/4″ oak dovetails. I did some practice cuts in 3/4″ plywood, and it is hardly cutting at all. It will just start to cut and then the saw will shake a lot more and the cut will not continue. I thought perhaps I was using too much feed pressure. I cannot change the saw speed. 30 seconds of cutting made a 1/16″ cut in 1/2″ oak. A have a feeling that’s not right.
Current blade is a 15 TPI blade (fewest teeth I can find in a 3″ pinned blade).
Will this saw ever make the cuts I want?

In my opinion, no. That is a very light duty hobby saw, suited only for thin material. 3/4" oak dovetails would be a challenge for any scroll saw, but can be done with the right saw and blade combination.
The Dewalt saw shown and pgt blades( Olson Saw PG49802 Precision Ground Scroll Saw Blade) would do it.
