Hey folks I was drifting around a Home Depot here on Long Island(we have more HD’s than Starbucks) to get a 2 1/8 hole saw and noticed that they are giving up the floor space for the big tools(band saw, drill press, table saw etc.) So they not only got rid of their boss, they also feel they can sell table saws from a photograph–ha.
The good news is that I picked up their drill press for $215. The bad news is that the other stores have NOT cut their prices(yet) they just have them outside the tool area with retail price tags on them for any fool that will pay that price. y’all should play the game with them and be patient. There were also two 14 ” band saws 3/4 hp for less than $250. Now these are not the best on the market but they are recpectable for the money and for someone just geting started a true find if you can score. Go for it, Paddy.

I will second that. I got a floor sample Ridgid 6" jointer for 200 bucks. It was missing a lock nut for the fence and the key for the on off switch both of which Ridgids customer service shipped to me free of charge. I am sure you can buy a better jointer but not for that price.
