Has anyone either made or purchased a heated mat about 3′ x 6′ to stand on at the workbench? Would need to be portable. Thanks, John

Hmmmm. No replies. I guess everyone here has cold feet in the shop. ;-)
Just googgle "heated floor mats? There are several options there.
No, I haven't even heard of
No, I haven't even heard of there being one though I would like just a plain 3' X 6' mat to cover the wooden cover of the chute to my basement. My cousin tried to make one using electric tape (pipe frost prevention) wrapped with foam rubber but the foam insulated the tape too much and the whole thing wound up as a melted stinking mess. It was interesting because I had a bad cold and couldn't smell a thing until I got right next to it and then had an uncontrollable urge to puke.
We have heated mats in the viewing area of the new stable I'm riding at. They aren't that big though, more like 20"x30" perhaps smaller. I can find out where they were purchased if you'd like, maybe they make bigger ones. Will be out there tomorrow for awhile.
I did try this, with a much smaller size(about the size quoted by a previous comment). It didn't do much good in keeping me warm,so I am now using it on top of the finishing bench, inside of my finishing tent, to speed drying. It gets modestly warm. For the shop, I put in central heat, and later, vinyl on top of the concrete slab floor.
Here are a couple of web sites that sells heated mats.
They are made to go under an existing mat.
I have never used so good luck.
