I’m in Ireland and have recently purchased a Skil Worm Drive Circular Saw HD77M through the U.S. (as they do not sell them in Ireland). The saw is second hand and I have the manual, but I don’t know what type of oil it takes or even if I can get it here. Does anyone know what grade of oil it is and specifics I should ask for when buying it as I cannot find anyone here who can help as they have never seen this type of saw before. Please, please help any information would be great.

To start, congratulations on buying about the best circular saw ever made. Those things are practically indestructable. As for the oil, Skil (Bosch) sells special oil for them. Actually, I don't know if it is special, but it has their name, a picture of the saw, and specify the it is for worm-drives on the tube. Here is a website I found that sells it. http://mendingshed.com/skillube.html On account of the limited availability of parts and service, I also recommend buying spare carbon brushes, a switch, cord, and a sky/rafter hook, just in case. That mendingshed has all necessary parts in the unlikely event a repair is needed, and I know amazon.com has the skyhook.
