Hello.  I hope there is someone who takes pity on this newbie who has probably taken on more than I should have.

I bought a 1958, solid maple, 72 drawer card catalog cabinet 2 years ago.  It had the most hideous tan finish and Ive spent the last 2 years removing and sanding down all 72 drawers and cabinet.   Im at the stage where I need to learn how to finish it.

Im envisioning it stained a light walnut color with a low sheen.  

If I go into a Home Depot, what should I buy?  Cost is not a factor and I dont want to experiment.  

Help!
