I am trying to get a crackle finish using a gold acylic paint but it is not reacting at all. The product that I am using is Delta Creamcoat crackle medium. It seems to work ok when I use reverse the paints and use the gold on the bottom, but even if I apply a very heavy coat the cracks are very faint. The temperature in my home is about 65 degrees. Can anywon help me out?

I am not familiar w this paint, but have used Ralph Lauren gold waterbourne and Mcloskey crackle medium sucessfuly before. Your paint may have too much metallic content to crackle successfully. If you must use this paint, I would try a diff. crackle medium. Try either hide glue thinned by 20% or FauxEffects crackle medium under this paint. We do metallic crackles all the time and show 4 to 6 at any one time on our http://www.craftmanannex.com
