Help – Can’t find molding for mirror!
Please help. I know there is a solution out there, but I can’t seem to find it.
I’m trying to build a framed mirror for my wife, but I can’t find any hardwood molding that looks appropriate for a 30×36 mirror (think Pottery Barn style). I plan on painting the frame white. So, I’m hoping to find molding in poplar or other close grained wood.
Anyone know where to buy high quality picture/mirror frame molding?
Thanks in advance for the advice!

Use stock moldings, rip dadoes on the table saw or glue rippers to the bases to create the dadoes. You can also combine two or more profiles for interesting built up moldings. If you want to get even more interesting try some hand carved texture strips or do a little scorching and wire brushing for the driftwood look. Distressing emphasized with dark glazes will add another layer of interest.

Yes, I grew up there. I used to own a frame shop there.

Bigfoot,
It has been my home since 94, having moved here from NJ. Love it, would never move again.
