All,
My nephew is getting married. I want to build them a dressing mirror, but unfortunately the bride has contemporary taste, and I don’t do contemporary.
I need ideas for a contemporary-ish dressing mirror that will still be palatable if their decorating style changes later.
I was thinking about a full length mirror captured in a cased doorway-type frame. Approx 7′ to the top of the frame. Swivel mirror, may or may not have seating area at the bottom.
What type of wood and color stain would you use? Any links to pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Design-blocked Tim

Not knowing their taste in detail, or color preferences, how about an oak frame stained black? With plain, flat faces, no routing, carving, or curves. That seems contemporary to me.
