Sorry for the title…but did it get your attention?
I am working on the particular piece for a TV and stereo table. On paper I just planned out the face frame and overall dimensions. I didnt plan the “guts” for the bottom, the sides and the drawer runners. I figured it would come to me as I went along. Everything is working out great so far. The front jots out about 1 inch and it sorta complicates things. Also, it is motisre and tenon so I am wondering if I happen to rabbet into a tenon, (just a little), is it going to hurt anything. This isn’t a masterpeice but it has been a head scratcher for me. I am leaning toward putting on a 1/2 inch back, dadoed to recieve two dividers. I attach drawer runners to these dividers and flip the piece over and scribe the bottomaround each leg. Also, dado the bottom to recieve the deviders….what do you think? MY TV is HEAVY..36 inch sony. Maybe 200 + pounds..so I will need a support in the mid rear as well. Anyhelp will be appreciated…I know I can do it but I am wondering if there are better, easier ways that are not becoming apparent to me. thanks

Cuta,
I like to build pieces like you describe where the internal guts are integrated with the verticals....and usually incorporate sliding dovetails for extra strength. However, base on the books, it would appear better if you build the guts seperately and attach to the frame you made....you may need the extra strength...and will certainly be easier..just a thought.
