Help need troubleshooting Delta 50-850 Dust Collector
My Delta 50-850 Dust collector starts when I push the start button but shuts down as soon as I release the start button. I’ve changed the switch per Delta technical support’s recommendation but still have the problem. Any suggestions on what the problem may be?

What you're describing sounds like a faulty magnetic switch.
However, when I look at the Delta schematics on the Internet, it shows the 50-850 has a standard on/off switch - not a magnetic switch.
Is it possible your dust collector was purchased outside the U.S. where safety regs might require a mag switch??
I purchased the dust collector locally her in the US
So, if you were to hold the ON button would the dust collector come up to full speed and continue to run until you let go of the button?
Yes, it runs normal as long as the start button is depressed. As soon as I release the start button it shuts down
Problem solved. After watching your video, I took the face plate off the switch. When I depressed the actual switch I heard a click and the unit started and stayed on. The problem was that the switch plate button had worn over time and now wouldn't fully depress the switch. If I press the switch just a little the unit wouldn't stay on. If I got the click it would stay on. Solution was to epoxy a small shim to the switch to give it back it's full travel. Thanks for the helping hand.
Excellent!
I'm glad it worked!

Wow, that sounds just like a faulty magnetic switch. It's confusing!
Maybe Delta upgraded the switch at some point during production? Or maybe the schematics I found on the Internet are simply wrong.
Hopefully someone with knowledge of this particular model can post here.
Here is a link to a short video that may help in your search for a fix.
