I have been woodworking for years and have recently been given to green light (by the Boss, my wife) to build a dedicated workshop. Over the years I have used many finishes and I love the ease of application and range of spray finishes. My previous workshop (garage) spraying finishes was no problem, given that it was warm, sunny, and low humidity. While my new workshop is still on paper i would like to incorporate a dedicated room for spraying. I have searched the web, but have found little on dedicated spray booths for woodworking. I was wondering if a heavy exhaust fan was suitable or if it there is something better. Anyone with any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

TexasJohn,
General makes a spray booth that will allow you to spray solvents because it has an explosion proof motor. Basically the booth is about 4 times the size of a voting booth with deflector wings and a filter to keep the finish from contaminating the motor.
Some people make there own spray booth and plans should be available somewhere on the net.
