HELP – router table top w/ tablesaw
This is my first time posting on ToolTalk. I am a weekend woodworker.
I desire feedback from others on using the area between my tablesaw’ s rails for mounting a router-table top. What worked? What didn’t?
Its a Bosch fixed base router and a 10″ Delta contractor’s tablesaw.

I did the same thing about ten years ago and it works great. I put a big Bosch router in a homemade base that replaced one of my extension tables on a Grizzly 10" saw. I made an auxillary fence with a built in dust port to fit my shop vac. I simply clamp this fence to my existing saw fence.
Since my saw fence clamps both front and back, I am able to use those yellow wheels as hold downs for the saw. I bought an extra set of mounting plates and put them on the router fence. Not only do those yellow wheels make better and safer rip cuts on the saw, they really work well (especially for long boards) for the router set up.
I also built an extension table for the saw doubles for the router table. Although I tried roller tables, I found that a plastic laminated table works better. I actually use that long table for a lot of my work as an extra bench.
Good luck.
