Help, Stanley plane type study with photos
Help, I am looking for a Stanley bench plane type study with photos that was my go to source. Have not need it for several years and cannot find it now. I believe it was published by Rex Mill or something similar. Any ideas on where I can pull it up?

Google "stanley blood and gore" to find Patrick Leach's complete type study. I think the site is supertool.com.
I have a book called The Stanley Plane by Alvin Sellens. It was published in 1975.
Lots of places online, but Patrick Leach's site is always my first stop.
The other site I know of is hyperkitten.com. No photos, though.
Thanks for all the the input. I am familiar with Patrick Leach's tour de force and Hyperkitten, both good sites. I just miss the ease of use with the Rex Mill site for a type study of Stanley bench planes. Several years back I was aware that the gent running the site had some issues that caused him to stop taking plane repair work. I guess keeping up the site became too much. I was hoping that it was my degraded internet search skills were the problem.
Clunky "low-fi" website, but "can be" useful https://www.antique-used-tools.com/comparts.htm
I agree, this was always my go to. I've just realised that I actually saved the plane study just in case this ever happened, so have the entire thing and a folder of the images. If it helps I would happily send it to anyone or see if there was any way of making a link available to everyone, unless there is a copyright issue.
Actually, I'll try and print it as a pdf and attach it here.
All the best
Dave
I'm glad you saved it... Rexmill's site is gone.
I know, such a shame, it was a great resource. I only just discovered that I'd saved it on my laptop after noticing the website was down a few months ago.
If anyone wanted to re-host it I have a folder of the images as well. Have no idea how to contact Rexmill to see if that would be ok. I'm in the UK and his webpage helped me choose some great planes that I use all the time.
I have the webpage saved but obviously all the links are dead.
Thanks! Just picked some old Stanley’s from EBay This is perfect!
That's awesome that its's helped already!
Is there any way of contacting the OP? when i click on his name i have no option to message him. Maybe because I've just registered?
Here is another resource that I have used — a step-by-step guide with photos:
https://woodandshop.com/identify-stanley-hand-plane-age-type-study/
That is a great site too and probably the best for quickly identifying a plane type. I use that a lot.
I agree....have used it a lot when meandering around the halls of Ebay!!
BTW, if, when using this algorythm the item detail you are looking at doesn't have a photo to show the required detail, just contact the seller....every one of them has sent additional photos...and quickly, too.
Thanks, that step-by-step guide works excellent for me!
