Help with asymmetric quarter pipe
I am trying to create surface that is basically a tapered concave quarter round. The length of the “pipe” is 42 inches and the top has a radius of 8″ and the bottom is 3″. Can this be done in sketchup? If so, does anyone have any idea how I might accomplish this? I have attached a .pdf of the general idea. Many thanks for your help Hastings

Yes, this can be done in several ways. I'll see if I can make some examples and post them.
Would anything be in same plane? In other words would this have to lie on a flat surface?
Dave:
I have attached a .pdf of the sketchup file so you can see the context. I am trying to make a seat back for a kitchen corner that is common in english pubs and this is the piece for the corner. I need to also round over the ends but I assume that once I have mastered this I will be able to do the convex shapes.
Your sample looks exactly right.
Thank you so much for your help.

PS I have added the file to my original post as I don't see any option to attach files to a reply.
Ah, good. Now I see how you are trying to use it. So for what I did, I drew a "cove molding" profile with an 8" radius on the arc. I extruded it 42" with Push/Pull. I deleted everything but the arcs and the faces and edges between them. Then I selected one of the arcs and in the entity Info box, changed the radius from 8" to 3". After that it was just a matter of moving that arc to the right position. Guidelines made that a cinch.
You could also use the Scale tool but that's a bit trickier when you need to get the arc to be just the right size.
Are you planning to add individual slat components around that corner?

I've uploaded another

I've uploaded another file showing the corners completed using your technique. It worked perfectly. Thank you for you help; I really appreciate it.
My plan was to make it out of a single piece so it became a feature, rather than make it of slats.
Hastings
Good, good. And you did it three times. I'm glad that worked for you.
I think your idea of making those features is excellent. I'd like to see the finished project.
Dave
Would this work for you?
