I finished a large toolchest with 2 coats of black and 1 coat of red milk paint. I then put on 1 coat of oil. I was working out side putting on the hinge when I had to take my son to the zoo for a couple of hours. Of course it rained and now I have streaks and a white film on the box. What is the best way to get rid of the streaks and white film. Do I have to sand again and then add more oil or wax? Thanks for your help Tim!

Tim,
Milk paint is used over new wood. I have used it several times and it stands up well.
I have never read or heard about putting oil or anything else over the milk paint.
I think you need to check out the maker of the milk paint.

*Tim, I went to Alta Vistahttp://www.milkpaint.com/index.htmlThis company can help.Warren
*Thanks for the help Warren! I put oil over the milk paint because of the an artical by Mike Dunbar. He calls for a mixture of 5 parts oil and 1 part paint thinner. It really made the paint darken. I relly liked the colar till it was rained on. Anyway, thanks a lot for the help. Tim
*Warren thanks for the help. I have sent them a note and am sure that they will be able to help me. Thanks again for taking the time-Tim
