I have a table from the 1930’s where the leg has detached itself recently. I have cleaned it up and the pieces are ready to be mated but I am not sure of the method I should employ. I was contemplating using a sliding dovetail key but there really is not much for the key to bite into to on the leg. I also thought of two 5/8″ dowels. This may be the easiest but not sure of it’s strength relative to the pressure applied from the table itself. With that being said I belive the other two legs are attached via smaller dowels as was the one that broke away. Any thoughts as to the best method to reattach the leg? Thanks.
