Help with router template guide and bit
I’m doing an inlay with my router, template guide and bit. I cut my pattern out of MDF, it is the Mickey Mouse logo, the 3 circles to make the Mouse. I can’t get the intersections where the circles meet to be crisp. They are rounded at best. How do you get this to work? I’m doing a pencil box for my wife, who is a teacher. The box is oak, with through dovetails. The top is cherry with some nice white spalting through it and the Mouse is going to be inlayed with purpleheart. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Are you trying to rout all 3 circles at once or one at a time ? You might be better off routing one circle, doing the inlay, then routing the other circles through the first inlay.

Thanks, Brent. I was trying to do it all with one template. After thinking about it for a while, I thought that doing each seperately would be the best way to tackle it. Thanks, again!
