I would like to build a 96″ long hickory trestle table. I do not have any hickory that long. Do any of you see any problems with end grain to end grain joinery to make the pieced that long? Thanks.

A good dovetail joint would make for a solid connection in an endgrain situation.
*The dovetail could look good. You could also use a boat building technique. Scarf the boards face to face to create longer ones. Recommend at least 4 inches of lap. And be sure to stagger the joints across the top with either method. I use a lot of hickory and would likely epoxy the scarf joint.
