Well Hello Sarge,
Couldn’t catch up to you on a thread so had to start one to thank you. I received your push stick (woodworking safety shoe!) and I am mighty impressed and appreciative. Very cool…
I haven’t seen a Yankee Doodle flag that up close and personal for a long time. Hits some interesting buttons.
Busier than a one handed paperhanger…I am still searching for a splitter for my unisaw. I was quoted $160.00 for an add-on splitter(my brother refers to Canada as “the great white gouge”) but I”m planning to have a machine shop make a custom riving knife.
Do they typically wrap half way round the blade?
Thanks for your consideration,
silver

My pleasure on the safety shoe. Been very busy myself doing some re-arranging in the shop to make room for a few new things.
A rivving knife should at least curve up just beyond the rear rising teeth. I prefer it go about and inch beyond where the rear risers make their turn toward center high point.
Saw a new Excalibur splitter (quick release) in new products section of one of the latest wood mags. Probaly want a fortune for it as everything else. They did not mention price as you might check the Excalibur web-site. You're probaly better doing the machine shop thing. That way you get the design you want.
Got to get the cosmoline off the new jointer and set up. Keep in touch with updates to the article and the rivving knife results..
