Hi All
I have recently moved to the UK (Derby) from Africa ( Mozambique & SA) and left my complete workshop behind in storage. I am now like a fish out of water. I am wanting to meet up with some fellow woodworkers to discuss tools and machines as I have toget going again.
(Space is limited – I have been used to a large workshop and now will have to get used to a “shoe box” and work in the court yard weather permitting – can not have it all !)
I need some advice on where to purchase equipment and wood.
Regards

I don't know the local tool merchants in Derbyshire, but Axminster Power Tool Centre is not a bad place to start for online purcahses. Screwfix is another online tool seller to have a look at.
For timber, if you are looking for a company with a good reputation try John Boddy Timber at Boroughbridge, Yorkshire. Also have a look at British Hardwoods in Keighley.
At least my response might flush out some of the other rare British based Knots habitues that might have more information about your area. You might also have a look at the knowledge base and resources listed at one or two of the British based woodworking forums such as this one. Slainte.
