you can start out looking at lonnie birds desk on this site to get some ideas on the design and thinking of secret compartments. the rest is your imagination.
the rest is your imagination. Right on!Now if we can find the all the secrets of hidden locks one poster in Knots has been looking for!http://forums.taunton.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=fw-knots&msg=38069.1&maxT=3&redirCnt=1#a9The small squares to the right & left of the drawer are panels of small drawers? Well, the secret is out! Damn!.. Yes the spaces were going to be drawers but I changed my mind. Maybe I should have made the narrow long drawers but I did not think they would be useful. SO I decided to turn them into 'secret' compartments that can be accessed by taking the back panel off.

If you are a paying member on this site, you'll find a couple articles about secret compartments. Just search "secret".

Do you know a store that sells Stickley in your area?
They have many dressers and wardrobes with secret places. Very well done too.
They don't advertise it on their site though, you have to see the pieces first-hand.
I just finished one that was quite simple. A blanket chest with three drawers
Drawers are 15" deep, one drawer glide rail is only 12 inches at the point the drawer stops I install a false back with sliding dove tale
.Then I put a top on the back compartment.
I can supply pictures If you want.

Hey Ct
I am currently working on this LB piece. There are plenty of other places on this project to design in hidden compartments. Check out the book case-- the upper section has some really nice places to hide all kinds of large boxes.
all in the imagination and design.
