Anyone try or seen both? What are your thoughts? This would be a 1-1/2″ blade for a Krenov style plane.

I haven't tried the ones by Finck, but the Hock blades I have are good, 01 steel. I just noticed there's a good set up on ebay this week.
Haven't tried Finck's, but knows his stuff. Ron Hock's short double irons for Krenov style planes are great. They take a keen edge and hold it for a reasonable amount of planing. I don't think you would be disappointed with either guy's irons.

I have finck irons they are little bit harder than the hock irons i use as well. They also took more work to prepare. But now very nice to use.Holds the edge longer than lie nielsen blades and hock.

I think it unlikely that you will hear from someone who has trialed both makes.
I have a few of the Hock double irons for Krenov-type planes (and, indeed, one in an actual Krenov-made smoother - the Hock is his standard blade), plus one 3/16" that is used in a single-iron config. All are excellent and you cannot go wrong with them. I have no knowledge of the Finck blades, but imagine that these would be of comparable quality as he has a (good) reputation to maintain. Finck trained with Krenov.

I've used both and I think the Finck irons hold a sharper edge longer. Don't understand the metallurgy behind either brand but just from personal experience I like Finck irons better.
Ted,The "both"you have used---the same metals? A or O ? "A" would hold a longer edge but some say, not as keen.Boiler
