I have almost finished the cutting for three Krenov-type wooden planes. Got the inspiration and plan from a recent issue of Popular Mechanics.
Hock will be my choice for the iron/breaker sets.
I needed to overcut the body center of one of the planes, and need a iron/breaker set 1/8″ slimmer than their standard 1-3/4″ size.
Have you dealt with them on specials? Will they do the 1/16″ grind-off on each long edge for me? I have been calling, but am only getting their answering machine.

Unless Hock quality is just far superior to any possible competitor, I believe I'd call them one last time, tell them they'd lost my business, and why.
It's been a while since I visited the Hock web site. Can you send them e-mail? Don't ask them IF they can trim your blade. Of course they can. Ask them how much they charge.
I once called Hock with a question. Ron answered the phone. Perhaps he's away at a tool show, or on vacation or whatever. My sense is that it is a rather small operation, tho I don't know that.
