I would strongly suggest you look into any of the Woodworking schools....I attended three classes at Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine. CFC has several basic workshops, and I'm sure the others do also. All have the hand tools and power tools you will use, and above all (this is crucial) they will teach you safe habits and ways of working. They are also great confidence boosters. Once you get the basics down, then go to the workshops that will teach you specific skills, or watch the videos on this FWW site.
If we could get a bit more info we can give better responses. Are you looking to pursue a full-time, multi-year program like North Bennet Street School or the Northwest Woodworking Studio? Are you looking to enjoy the craft as a hobby or as a professional.
Many of us (me included) are what I call 'enthusiastic hobbyists' meaning we are primarily hobbyists but, sometimes exceed what others might call a hobby when it comes to skillsets, tool selections and investment.
Tell us more about what you are striving for. Woodworkers as a breed are very helpful folks.
