How did you put the dust port on Unisaw?
I’m getting a dust collector, and have a ~12 year old right tilt UNISAW, with the motor cover. So I have a thin slot across the side for the dust to fall out. Delta has a port for it but it is $50+… so is there another way that works? I’ve thought about just cutting a round hole in the lower part of the motor cover, and attaching a plastic port. Anyone have a better idea, or sholud I just pay the $50?
Thanks, Edward

You could measure the opening and go to your favorite big box store and find a forced air furnace duct that is the same size with a 4" outlet. If your saw has the sloped bottom like mine does it works pretty well as long as you use the DC. I would not cut a hole in the base unless you intend to revamp the entire bottom Joe

Hi EFARMER4 just cut a hole to fit a piece of (pvc) pipe as close to bottom as possible ,or do the same on the back side of the saw. good luck.
I sliced a piece of PVC pipe to fit the slot, glued one end closed, drilled screw holes in the dust chute lip that extends outward and then simply screwed it on with a foam gasket top and bottom.
