Hi, back again after a few months break. My question is what type of glue works best to bond wood with metal? I read about a type just recently, though now I completely forget. Specifically, I will join a 1/4″ threaded rod through a 1/2″ layer of mohagony. As always, thanks in advance for the comments.

Jon,
Polyurethane comes to mind. (Gorilla Grip, etc) Sticks to skin real nice. Just clean the threaded rod before you try to glue it in. Use alcohol to get the cutting fluid off of it.
Isn't epoxy usually use in these situations?
I almost wrote that in but I get alergic reactions to the premixed material. Epoxides are like poison Ivy for me. Took a while to figure it out. I suppose it would work, just not in my shop.
p.l premium, west systems, a 2 part epoxy comes in a red and white tubes. all are just in your quest, bear
IFC makes a epoxy called G2 designed to be used on oily or acidic woods as well as most metals and gems. Good glue. It also has a variable mixing proportion to make the glue more rigid or more flexible. Lee Valley carries it.
