I wanted to comment on a current article, “A boss of a dust collector”. I found it impossible to do so. Surely FW could make their website friendly to those readers that want to comment. I finally gave up. You really ought to be doing better. Maybe FW does have a mechanism, but I am a longtime subscriber that could not find it on your website for the #283 edition. Surely you could make this easier for subscribers.

I want to clarify where you are when you are looking for a comment function. It is available to online subscribers for articles that are published on the web site. I do not see comments available when viewing a digital issue article (as opposed to one that is published on the website). I picked a random article under the How-To section and comments were allowed there. Where are you specifically when you want to comment please?
I am afraid that the issue here is that the current (August 2020) issue of FW is not on the finewoodworking.com site yet.
Today is the "in-home" day of the new issue. That means it's the day subscribers should be receiving their issue. The articles then get individually posted throughout the month.
Unfortunately, you can't comment on something that hasn't been posted yet, but you can certainly post a comment and start a constructive discussion about the article here in the forum.
Regarding FW August 2020 article on page 22, A Boss of a Dust Collector. I've had good experience with Oneida and I am sure this is a good product. Most of us already have some form of dust collector. $2400-$2900 seems pretty steep. When I built my workshop, I ran 8" HVAC pipes to my various tools, connected to a typical (Shopfox) dust collector in the next room with a plastic collection bag and a felt exhaust bag. The bag filled fairly quickly and performance deteriorated. I installed an Oneida Super Dust Deputy on a trash can in line with my old system and soon found that performance was better and the plastic bag collected essentially nothing. I Replaced the plastic bag with a second felt one and realized even better performance. Much less expensive, it ain't pretty but works great.
