Reduce the humidity level. That will also help keep rust at bay.
Mold spores are all around us all the time. They only grow where there is moisture. Like the other posters say, take moisture out of your situation, and the mold will stop. Seal the moisture out of the room, and maybe add a dehumidifier.
I took a coarse that involved lab work. The clean up was 5% house hold bleach and water.
The nursery industry uses the same thing to sterilize the propagation equipment.Ron
