How to repair a coffee table? I know nothing!
Hi, I have one of those coffee tables where the top lifts up closer to you. One of my boys pulled himself up on it when it was up and somehow popped every single screw out that was attaching it to the table. The top is completely detached now and the holes are stripped.
Is there a way for me to fix this that will be even a little bit sturdy?
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. Thanks in advance!

Option 1: You might be able to use larger diameter screws.
Option 2: Slightly enlarge the damaged holes with a drill so they are perfectly round, then
glue in hardwood dowels. Once dry, trim them flush and drill new pilot holes for the original screws.
It looks like the holes are not centered front to back on the tabletop. Spin the top 180 degrees and screw it back on.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I've fixed this problem many times by just filling the holes with 5 minute epoxy and putting the screws back in. I typically reassemble the whole thing once the epoxy is in and still wet then let it dry for 24 hours. I have yet to have this repair fail.
Thank you all so much! And John_C2, that is the truth!! I will be trying to fix it this weekend. Wish me luck! Thanks again
Let us know how it works out.
