I often do searches in the digital library. From the search results I’ll select an article to read. After reading this article I would like to return to my search results page. I’ve tried many things but have not been able to figure out how to do this. I always have to re-do my search. Is there a way to return directly to the search result and avoid having to do the search all over again?

Yes! On the search result page simply right click on the article and select "open link in new tab". That leaves you search result tab intact. You can open all the tabs you want that way!
That doesn't work for me. When I right click on the article I get options like "save as", "print", "cast", etc. Nothing about "open link in a new tab." I'm running Google Chrome on Windows 11. Thanks.
Use firefox!
To be fair, over the years I've used the search bar in FWW, I find it a bit clunky and I'm computer savvy. Sometimes I've know really well what I want down to issue of FWW where there is say a Becksvoort article. Even with that info, it doesn't pop up near the top even using some of the "filters" on the left hand side. Wish it worked a bit better. Not losing sleep over it.
Copy the search page URL before you start article surfing. Paste it into the browser bar to get back. Klunky as hell, but it's a work-around.
That doesn't work for me either. It looks like the search results are being displayed on some kind of overlay page. The URL does not change when the search results are displayed.
Not sure if this will help but here is a link to an article explaining some fixes for the right click menu in Chrome under Windows 11. It may or may not apply to your specific problem.
