How Would you build this (joinery?)
http://lumberjocks.com/projects/24536
Hi, i found this at LumberJocks.com and would like to build something similar. Can you provide suggestions for joinery? I was thinking dado or biscuits. With Dado, if I used 3/4″ birch ply, would there be enough “body” left after making 1/4″ dado on both sides for shelving?
Thanks,
Brad

1/4 in. dadoes in the sides
1/4 in. deep dadoes in the sides and then dadoes in the shelves, top and bottom for the vertical dividers will work just fine. You'll glue it all together and, inset the back to prevent racking If it is all plywood, you could screw or screw and glue the back to the dividers as well. It ought to be bullet proof.

Thanks Dave. I do plan to use 1/8" or 1/4" ply on the back as well, so I'll staple/screw that on.

Wet Items?
I have made about 15 similar units for a local school. After making a few I realized that boots, and other wet items were being storied in them. I switch the back from plywood to pegboard to get some ventilation.
I used 3/8 dados, but I am sure that ¼ would be more than strong enough.
