I am a weekend woodworker, and I would like to buy some type of paint spray gun. I will be doing all of my painting at home, so portability is not that important for me. I don’t mind paying a steep price $500-$800 if it means a great finish and big time savings (e.g., not having to thin the paint, ease of use, ease of cleanup, etc.), but if a cheaper alternative would suffice, I of course would like to save the money. I am looking for any suggestions, recommendations, or comments about pros and cons of different systems. I also was hoping that other readers might tell me about the systems they use and why they like them (or don’t like them). I realize it’s difficult to answer such a vague inquiry, so if my question is too broad, I would appreciate it if you would just point me in the direction of an article or other reference materials on the subject. Thanks for your time.

Hey WJWWW,
We've published several articles over the years on choosing and using spray equipment that I recommend you read through.
This category page lists all of the articles and videos. Start with the article by Chris Minick "Which Spray System Is Right for You?" Then check out Jeff Jewitt's Spraying Basics article.
Finally read through some others or watch some of the videos on the list to fill in the blanks.
