I am looking at a DeVILBLISS HVLP conversion gun . It sells for $170 and can be used with a smaller compresor. Is anyone familier with this gun? How well does it work?

Assuming you are talking about a 'professional' model, DeVILBLISS guns generally use a LOT of air, a ballpark of 13cfm. You'll need a compressor in the $800+ range for high duty cycles. You can also buy a smaller tip/cap and dial the gun down if your not spraying lacquer.
