I was looking into getting a Capspray cs9100 HVLP system but I was wondering if I would be able to spray water based paint with it. I at times need to paint cabinets or book shelves with it and just didn’t know if it would be able to handle water based paint or not. If it does do I need to thin the paint down first? Also is this a reliable system? I am able to get it for a descent price but I am trying to figure out if it is worth it for what I need.
Thanks,
Nate

I googled it and found this...
From SprayTech
This top end unit is the industry-leading, four-stage turbine that produces 8.5 PSI and allows a contractor to apply heavy coatings at faster speeds with little or no thinning. The CS9100 can spray such materials as multicolor coatings, finish grade latex, and other water-borne coatings. It supports a maximum hose length of 60 feet
It's a four stage system, so you should be fine. Be careful when thinning any waterborne coating. Some are very touchy. You should always follow the manufacturers reccomendations.
