Yes – I did it again. I glued up a panel “without optimum clamp pressure”.
I glued three pieces, clamped with K-bodies and then used the BS and my circle cutting jig to arrive at the final shape. Then I noticed a slight notch in the edge and reduced the diameter a “smidge”. The off-cut seen in the photo is less than a 16th thick and has 4 glue joints. It has been kicking around shop for 2 weeks and shows no sign of failure. Can you imagine how long it would last with “proper” clamp pressure?

Well, Frosty, what are we going to do with you? There ya go, refusing to follow the scientifically derived formulae for clamp pressure. You will go to your grave knowing, just knowing, the joints you leave behind will not last into the next millenium, for lack of a couple hundred PSI. For shame, for shame.
Puleeze don't ban me from Knots. I want to keep learning from my peers. I promise that I will pay more attention to "technical" articles written by those have fancy degrees but no sawdust in their hair.Frosty"I sometimes think we consider the good fortune of the early bird and overlook the bad fortune of the early worm." Some of us have fancy degrees but no hair in our sawdust.

forestgirl,
Aw c'mon, it's only his first mistake for gawds sake. Might I suggest we all dawn black hoods and give him 40 lashes with a wet noodle. Just think, every time Frosty eats noodles he will remember his blunder and think of us.
I mean, after all, he could have lied and called our attention to his mastery of thin slicing with the bndsaw and called it....................

Pal, you're living way out on the edge. What's next, picture frames? Shaker baskets?

Yep but that fifth glue up messed it all up! Broke in the middle!
I'm working on my band-saw skills. I haven't learned how to thread the blade so the I don't a a starting-point when I circle-cut. But, I'll stick with it - just like I.m working on my glue-up clamping.Frosty"I sometimes think we consider the good fortune of the early bird and overlook the bad fortune of the early worm." Frosty,You should know that I have applied for a patent on that method! I suspect it will get the same response from the USPTO as my application for a patent on Y2K compliant screwdrivers! :<)
