Has anyone restored an Old Machines ?
I don’t want to strip it down bare but want to clean it up leaving all of the original paint -decals – finish-patina of the wood-I’m not sure about the missing paint but would like to keep it from rusting.
I do want to take it all apart -get the rust off all parts some how with out it looking like it was sanded off. I don’t know If the finish on the wood can be saved .
I guess I want to get rid of all the original dirt rust gunk and keep all the original finish as possible , protect it form rusting and do something to save what is left of the decals.
I will need to make a stand for it something that will kind of match the saw- I have a couple of ideas but open to suggestions.
I am not sure what type of Scroll Saw it is Parallel Arm ? Walking Arm ? a converted Treadle Saw?
I got a Vintage Marathon Motor with it that looks almost new
This is the Saw I was asking about blades for – Pin Type 6 1/2 -7 in. long
Check it out

Ron, in addition to poking around here at FWW/Knots, you might want to check in at the scroll saw forum at Just Woodworking.

Hey Thanks Ill give them a Poke or 2
Careful, there's a guy nicknamed "Grizzly" over there, LOL! Actually, his real name is Tom Mullane, looks like a real nice guy, designs scroll saw patterns, but poke and prod a Grizzly and you never know!!forestgirl Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>) you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I'm not to sure I'd want to restore that one! Looks pretty good as is. Has character.
