It seems to me that I saw a picture of a wooden bathtub in a Fine Woodworking Magazine or maybe it was Fine Homebuilding.In any case, what I am looking for are pictures of wooden bathtubs and also ideas on how to finish the wood to make it waterproof. I was thinking of using the same technique as in strip canoe building–that is covering the wood with fiberglass and epoxy resin. Does anybody have any other ideas?

I've always wanted to build my own tub. You don't have to worry about fibreglass as it is used only to add strength to a lightweight craft. A wooden tub shouldn't need it, there isn't much reason to build an ultralight tub! My conundrum has been how to build up the layers and the type of wood. I imagine a light wood would be more appealing than a dark wood. Good luck. I'd love to hear how it turns out!
