Having been frustrated by existing software, I am helping a computer programmer friend of mine write some woodworking software. This will not be a CAD program, rather it will specifically deal with woodworking operations: Rabbet, Tenon, Dado, etc.
Version 1.0 will be pretty basic. If there is much interest in the concept, we will try to improve and market it in the future.
What kinds of things would you like this software to do? How could it be made as intuitive as possible? Would this sort of thing interest you?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not clear on what your point is. Seems to me it's quicker and easier to just draw things out on a board in real scale than to figure it out on a computer. I can see using a computer to figure an orbit for a satellite but is it really necessary to use a computer for everything. Whatever happened to learning how to think???? Seems like simple thing are made to be more complicated than they really are! A pencil is still pretty cheap and probalby one of the best cordless tools you can own.
I'd love to have a simple and reasonably priced software package that would alow me to design furniture projects with joinery detail. You should be able to draw 3 elevations and generate a 3d image. when drawing it would be cool to be able to select and generate joints into your work like mortice/ tenons, dovetails etc.
