Ideas needed for Miter saw table to help collect dust
Building a new shop and wanting to improve the set up for Miter Saw – especially as it relates to dust collection strategies. I’ve seen plans in Fine Woodworking in the past but now can’t find any plans! Any ideas welcome.
Thanks Charles.

Look in YouTube for multiple ideas.
The two designs I've seen I can suggest can be found on Jay Bates and Rob Cosman's YouTubes channel. The Jay Bates style needs to be built. The Rob Cosman one looks like it might be a commercial offering from somewhere and looks easy to set up but I don't know more than that.
Any of the hoods or enclosures only work if you have sufficient (STRONG) dust collection strength.
I've tried several methods. Much dedends on what saw you have and what the initial design was. My old makita works best with a shop vac attached wear the bag would normally be and a small add on to dirct the dust. Dust collection through the table on this saw was a fail.
Buy a saw with good dust collection.
I use a 12" DeWalt sliding mitre saw and with a vac attached, the collection is excellent. Even without the vac, a bin under the saw still collects most of the dust.
