Identifying Unknown Vintage Delta Unisaw Model and Year
Hi – I’m in the final restoration stages on my Vintage Delta Unisaw. The Cabinet doesn’t have a Model Number anywhere to be found. I have learned that the tilt indicator scale LTA 500 sometimes has the model number but mine doesn’t. The table does have a serial number tag 50-2397 and haven’t been able to use it to determine anything other than it may in fact be rare based on the tag. I believe the Saw is a model 1450 mainly because the hand wheel shaft assembly has the older wedge system LTA-458 (wedge key). The saw does have the original bottom pan LTA 478 which I believe to be rare as well. The X pattern under the table and table extensions are x-braced which I have read to be consistent to 1450 as previously stated.
Any insight as to where I can find identifying information would be very much appreciated.

This site usually carries that information; http://vintagemachinery.org/
In 1939 H. Campbell Stuckman purchased Delta manufacturing, the same year he married his school buddies( Willard Rockwell ll) sister. I'm not sure what year Delta was integrated into Rockwell but pre 40s Deltas had no tag. That's an old serial number tag ,1940s but during the war they were not metal but some kind of composite paper and late 40s tags were different altogether. Double digit 50 on the tag makes me think that it is not early 40s and since not the war years and not the late 40s- so....
Thanks gulfstar and pantalones868 - what I find interesting is that the tag is on the back side of the table top not the cabinet. I haven't found any information on table top serial number tags. I cant tell if the tag is steel or aluminum.
The Vintage Machinery "Unisaw Type Study" on their site - is base on the 1939 No. 1450 model. I assume my machine is a 1450 34 Series for 1 particular reason, the lock knob is shorter than the longer lock knob that comes to a point.
I'm determined to find some information - insight on the table top serial number - I think it would help answer the question.
Sure looks like 1947 http://wiki.vintagemachinery.org/DeltaSerialNumbers.ashx

Thanks, I agree - the main thing that has me scratching my head is the serial number being mounted on the table top. I see no mention anywhere of this...
