What do you do with an almost complete set of 20-25 years of Fine Woodworking, Fine homebuilding, and Fine Gardening taking up space and your wife suggests that you not renew your subscriptions ’cause there’s no more room?
I’d like to donate them but:
It seems that the high schools around here have closed their woodworking shops and the woodshop at our local park dosen’t have much room. I talked to our librarian but they don’t have room either and would probably sell them at their fund raiser. The Brandeis Book Fair only takes books.
I’ve thought of E-Bay or CraigsList but they generally list single or 6 issue sets and I don’t have time.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,

Try a classified here. Plenty of us would likely be interested, particularly in the FWW's.
I'm trying to complete my set of Fine Homebuilding. Figure out a price, and I'll buy them.

Being a student in a fine woodworking program I would like to say...If you want to donate those magazines - without any hassle and a whole bunch of gratitude - Ill take em!
Having tried to donate books to the woodworking libray I find that for some reason schools are reluctant to take donations. In most cases, I take things that people donate and accidentally leave them there at the end of the semester.
Blisk,
I would love to take them off your hands....all of them. What do you want for them? I only recently subscribed (well, this past year), and have been looking to try to start picking up past issues to further my learning...
Let me know what you want to do...
thank you,

A few years ago I had this same problem. I decided to scan them and then can them. I scanned the articles I wanted them got rid of them. I know someone will say how could you throw them out. Well to get a good scan I had to cut the article out. It was a lot of work with so many years to do but now I wait about a year after issue date and then scan that year. It works for me.

Put them on ebay and you will never regret it. In addition to sparking up some fistfights over th whole lot here in knots (and in breaktime and over the fence) you will be able to reap the rewards of selling to the highest bidder!. No really, list them here where someone may actually use them (maybe even a noob!) and not add them to thier "collection" like a notch in there mahogany library... I know a lot of people would like to have a "Complete set" but if you can get them in the hands of someone who NEEDS them and will learn from them all that you did and more, the creation of this site and forum will have succeeded in it's endeavor!!
-=Drooling=- SEND THEM TO ME!!!!!!!
