   Joel, I have a Veritas bevel up I dont want. Give me an email address and I will send photos and details. I don't see a way to send PMs on this site.

   If you guys don't want to post an email address in the open you can go to the website in my profile and use the form on the contact us page. If you both send email addresses I'll put you in touch. I've done this for forum members in the past. put "Veritas forum contact" in the note so I know it's you.

   There's a backlog everywhere, and used prices have shot up because of it. I ordered a few things from Veritas in December that they don't expect until August. July doesn't seem like such a long wait.

   There's a spare Marcou S15A in the plane cupboard, bought after that excellent plane maker made me an offer I couldn't refuse, despite me already having one. (This was many years ago, when I was very young - 15 & 3/4 - so not good at resisting pretty-shiny things).

   Mind, I would want a bit more than the cost of that Veritas LA smoother, as the Marcou is still quite pretty despite having planed a thousand planks to purrfekshon. And it does sport a Veritas blade, currently one with a 50 degree bevel; but I have others. Have you a child you could sell; or perhaps a large but unwanted diamond? :-)

   Lataxe, just plane spoilt.

   PS You could just buy a Veritas blade and one of their fine adjusters then make your own plane. Even I can make one that works well, so it can't be difficult.

    I'd never even heard of a Marcou plane until you enlightened me a few months ago, and yes, they are works of art.

    Fortunately or unfortunately I have already made a deal with Stantheman and the Veritas LA smoother is already on it's way to me, so I'm afraid I'll have to pass. Besides the only "children" I have hanging around are grandchildren, too young to be of much use in the shop.

    Thanks for the offer and suggestions Lataxe, I appreciate your insights.

    I have no idea man. You can search on aliexpress. Always when I can't find what I need anywhere, I go to aliexpress and a miracle begins:)) I have been using https://alitools.io/en for a long time, which helps me to make purchases online comfortably and safely, and most importantly - profitably. If you have already searched everywhere, then you really should look on aliexpress. Good luck!
