I am a woodworking hobbyist working out of a two car garage. I have a Delta 8-inch jointer (DJ20). I am shopping for a high-end thickness planer. My lead candidate is the INCA 570 Jointer / Planer. I has a 10-inch capacity, quick change blades, appears well constructed and the price is well, reasonable.
I have ruled out the 12-inch machines from:
Knapp: Beautiful machine, but too expensive!
Robland: Looks a little cheaply made.
Felder: See Knapp.
Hammer: See Robland.
Delta: I am not buying any more of their equipment.
General: Pricey for a single-function machine that has slow-set blades.
I would appreciate any advice that you would care to share regarding thickness planers or combination jointer / planer machines.
Any bad experiences / weakness to the INCA?

Garret Wade (the primary US importer) has announced that it will no longer import Inca tools, so you buy at your hazard.
Mafell make one similar to the inca.

Also Rojek sells combos and the Minimax isn't too bad. The jointer fence could be better and maybe it is by now. Can't beat the slot mortiser they supply as options
