Inca 570 Maintenance & Inca Users Group
I have an Inca model 570 Jointer/Planer that I purchased used last year. I am not convinced that I am keeping it lubed properly – for example during an extended milling session (1-2 hours) several months ago I melted the plastic gear. I have replaced it and the belts, but have kept my sessions shorter. Any tips on how to maintain the machine would be appreciated.
Also would anyone be interested in forming an informal “users group” for Inca woodworking tools? Besides the J/P I have the 12″ table saw.
Thanks!

I certainly would, particularly since Garrett Wade is getting out of the Inca business.
I have the 570, along with the 10" bandsaw. It would be a shame to cast these machines aside for lack of parts, particularly blades for the 570.
How does one go about forming a user group? Perhaps one already exists?
Blades are avaible. There's a place in Michigan that manufactures them for Tersa in the US. Tersa cutters are used on many other machines. If you go to your local saw blade sharpening shop, they usually will have info about it.
I stocked up on blades for the 570 when I first heard Garrett Wade was going to abandon Inca.
Do you happen to know the name (or link) for the place in MI that sells tersa blades?
Thanks.
There is also http://www.woodtechtooling.com that has the TERSA blades in HSS, M42 or solid carbide. Although I have not purchased yet from them I have corresponded with Chuck Rankin (Chuck@the address above).

there might already be a users' group out in cyberspace. try yahoo- i know they already host some other forums like this (in particular, one for robland combo machines)

I have the same machines you do and am always interested in tips/sharing info. Where did you purchase your machines? I got mine from Eagle tools, and Jessie Barigan there is very knowledgable about all Inca tools and how to service them.
BakeSale,
Since I am here in PA I got mine at Garrett Wade. I've heard good things about your friend at Eagle Tools.
