I heard recently that Inca table saws are no longer going to be available in the US. Does anyone know if there’s any truth to this?

I've heard rumors about Inca and Felder.. Nothing substiantiated at this point though.

I do not know where the rumors about Felder came up. I spoke to the president of Felder today and he is planning the tradeshows for next year.
The rumor might be about Knapp, I have heard that Laguna might stop importing them due to slow sales. I was just at a show 20 miles from Laguna tools this weekend, and they did not bring any combination machines (Robland or Knapp), just 2 tabletop bandsaws. A friend who was interested in the Knapp called to ask them to bring one to the show but they would not bring one.
The Felder rumour is hereby squashed... I talked to a rep today and he said no way..... Steve - in Northern California
Hi Matthew:
I'm afraid it's true. In the Garrett Wade Catalog, I recieved last week, They said that Inca was going to stop production of the 2200 table saw and that Garrett Wade (their sole distributor in the U.S.) were going to stop importing the other Inca products.
I am truely sorry to see them go but not surprised. In 1983 when I was looking to buy a cabinet table saw, the Delta Unisaw and Inca cost about the samw, $1,600. Today you can still get a Unisaw for THE SAME PRICE, while the Inca is well over $3,000. That's pretty hard to compete with.
I have an older Inca table saw and find it a joy to use and plan to continue to use it for the rest of my woodworking life. I plan to stock up on parts while they are still available.

Dennis, have you heard anything about Felder... I heard a similar rumor about them but couldn't confirm it.Steve - in Northern California
Steve,
Do you remember where or when you heard the rumor (hopefully) about Felder? I would be real interested in knowing . Thanks, wb
Matthew,
What you have heard is true. Inca has been restructuring themselves and their product lines in an attempt to adapt to a more universal market. The company has added and dropped different machine models over the years, but recently and most notably, they have ceased production on their 12" Professional Table Saw (the 2100E and then its successor the 2200). These units are regarded by many as the foundation of the Inca line. The remaining model lines will be taking up the slack for the financial loss, and will most likely see price increases in the near future. The Garrett Wade Tool Catalog won't be importing any new Inca machines, as they are no longer 'assured of a steady, reliable and affordable supply.' If you are looking for a new Inca machine, you'll most likely find feast or famine. You're either going to get a great deal from a company that's trying to dump their remaining stock, or the prices will hold firm as new units become more scarce with increased demand. Just a side note. If you do buy a new Inca machine, just remember that spare/replacement parts will also be harder to come by.
