Inquiry for Router Raizer Owners & Users
Would like to hear from owners and users of the Router Raizer, produced by Router Technologies.
Tell me what you think of this router accessory. It is my impression, from looking at the picture and reviewing the installation instructions, that it should work just fine.
Tell me what you think, anything you think pertinent to my inquiry.
Thanks,
Billy B.

Billy, I have had one on my Triton/Ryobi set up for two years and it has worked just fine. It is nice and simple to set up.
I have one installed on my Porter-Cable. I have had it for about 5 years and it has been trouble free.
I too installed one on a 3hp dewalt. I have had no problem. My only complaint is that I would like to be able to change bits above the table. I have'nt checked into new technology regarding this.
It was easy to install and has not failed yet. For the money, I would recommend it. Hope this helps...and would appreciate any feed back on a bit extension if one can be recommended.

This for mufti and Railyn as well as Kevin.
Kevin, regarding changing bits above the router table top. I can offer two suggestions.
1. Go to http://routertechnologies.com/ and view their router collet extension.
2. If your table top or router plate insert uses the ring inserts, you probably can change the bits from the top by using a bent wrench. You would probably want to rig your router collet shaft lock so you can lock it from outside the cabinet.
My router in the router table is a Hitachi M12V. I have a rod that goes through the cabinet side. I push in to lock the shaft and if it should stick I can always pull the rod and unlock the shaft. It has never stuck. The spring returns the locking mechanism to the unlocked position when I release pressure on it. I use the bent wrench to release the collet.
I have used a crank handle for 5 or 6 years to raise and lower the bit from underneath. It looks to me like the Router Raizer will eliminate the necessity of doing that. I can't see spending more money for a raising mechanism than my router cost. And the router table top itself was expensive, but it did not cost more.
I do appreciate your responses, and look forward to others.
Thanks,
Billy B.
Kevin--if go to http://routertechnologies.com and click on instructions. You will see where there is available wrench bending instructions. And, they have a FAQ section, where you will find questions related to converting your router table for changing bits from above the table top.
Also, go to http://woodshopdemos.com/menu2.htm and in the menu, in router and router table section you will see how things were done to unlock and lock the plunge from outside the cabinet. You will also see other router topics that may help you.

Once again, I want to thank all those that replied to this inquiry. You were all helpful and I really appreciate it.
I ordered a Router Raizer this morning. It will be installed on my Hitachi M12V which is the router dedicated to my main router table.
I wish you all much success and pleasure in your woodworking.

Thanks Billy...I'll check that out!
Enjoy!
