Andy:
I have made a Newport style tall clock. I didn’t want all the traditional works because they are too noisy. I want to install two separate quarts movements, one for the minute and hour hands and one for the second hand. I purchased a fancy brass dial face and two quarts movements.
My problem is how to mount the movements so the batteries can be replaced and there is enough clearance between the two movements to allow the shafts to penetrate the dial face. Can you suggest a resource person to guide me? Thanks much. MIKE

I would like to build a variation of an 18th century candle stand, with a hexagonal cross section to receive the legs, dovetailed to the spindle.Christian Becksvoort" article in FWW 85 was a great help in terms of the leg joinery etc. My problem is that I would like the largest diameter of the spindle to be greater than the cross section of the hexagon. Also I was thinking of a hexagonal top rather than round so I could wrap it with a molding . Any help would be much appreciated
